Just a lovely, complex Sylvaner, great acidity, some nice slight honeyed notes to the layered fruit, even though this cannot have Grand Cru on the label because the grape is Sylvaner, the juice is from fruit grown on Zinnkoepfle, a Grand Cru vineyard that Agathe farms. — 9 months ago

Sylvaner is one of the few “second tier” varieties that sometimes gives me a thrill. (I’ve yet to taste an Aligote that had that effect on me, for instance.)

@Tom Casagrande, she makes another Sylvaner from another Alsatian vineyard that is quite good, but not at this level. I have read that she loves Sylvaner, having grown up eating berries while helping her grandparents tend the Zinnkoepfle Grand Cru vineyard!!

Ålrajt, för tydlighetens skull: den första flaskan jag drack MÅSTE ha varit defekt, för flaska nr 2 är utan problem drickbar - god till och med! Slank, mineralig och med en svag, svag hint av nån exotisk frukt. Tipp topp till oliver, oljedoppad levain och kapris. Phew, vilken tur! Och vilken upprättelse! #caves — a month ago
