Bull's Blood Red Blend 2013

Delicious and full bodied. Better after it’s had some time to breath but tasty by itself or with meaty dish. — 12 days ago

Barbie Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Blanc 2019

Classy stuff! Bone dry, reticent aroma, but med-full bodied texture and long, raspy, lingering finish. Reminds me of high end Alsatian Pinot Blanc and perfect foil for French/Viet Namese Fusion. Such a pure pleasure. Willamette whites are coming into their own and really rock in’! — 3 days ago

Domaine Serene

Yamhill Cuvée Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2015

Presents with a beautiful translucent dark ruby red with a clear rim. Medium bodied nice long finish. I am getting cranberries, cherries, rhubarb and wet leaves! Nice wine at 14.5 alc. No burn and going down like candy! A chill on this makes earthy characteristics shine! Opens sufficiently..45 min decant! — 3 days ago

Analemma

Tinto Mosier Hills Tempranillo Syrah 2017

Bought at winery. Garnet red, moderately extracted pigment. Leather, tangerine and red fruit aromas. Oak and cherry flavors, slight seed bitterness, good acid, wood and somewhat gripping acid-skin astringency on finish. Drinkable now, but not sure what additional aging will get you tannin-wise. More wood dominance and less fruit? Balance among the elements now so why wait? Winery tasting notes mention fresh fig (yes, how did I miss that?) petrichor (huh? Turns out I know what this is - smell of dust or dirt after rain first falls on soil, but I didn’t pick this up in the wine) and red currant (close enough). 40/25/25/10 blend of Grenache (tangerine note), Tempranillo, Syrah (cherry) and Mencia, 228 cases produced. If you’ve never heard of Mencia, Analemma or this AVA, you have to check them out! Only one bottle to taste *sigh* Give the wine an hour for the red fruit to come out and develop length, and a better quaff at that — 2 days ago

Lots of acid and honey. Screams for food (white fish or chicken with citrus). Fantastic. — 3 days ago

Hundred Suns

Tualatin Estate Gamay Noir 2018

Small lot production, carbonic fermentation, amphora aging, definitely fun craft-oriented stuff. But how good is it? Garnet red, very good clarity, moderate pigment extraction. Graphite and raspberry aromas. Spearmint, raspberry and a tad of blueberry flavor. (Winery tasting notes mention blue fruits and semisweet chocolate, which is strange since I toyed with cocoa and chocolate flavors while tasting initially). Balanced acid, almost light on alcohol but I don’t need it stronger. Moderate astringency and bitterness on finish. This should stand up to further aging, with fruit to last and lots of tannins left to soften. Not a typical choice for this variety, I know, but if you lack the patience to wait, like me, you’ll find this highly drinkable now, depending how tolerant you are with all those tannins. — 10 days ago

Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir

Medium garnet rim, pretty and perfumed. Medium acidity and long, chewy finish of mild cranberry, some pencil lead. Really impressive structure - stewed plum? Consistently good producer of terroir-focused Pinot. The Freedom Hill is lovely. Oh, lavender too. — 6 days ago
