I opened this last night but it was too closed (for me) to evaluate. 24 hours later it’s a bit more forthcoming, with the nose showing super-fresh apple and orchard fruit, beautifully pure slatey minerality (yes I know it’s not grown on slate), and a faint honeysuckle note. Bone dry, it’s very minerally and crisp in the mouth. Good acids and a medium-long finish. 9.2 now. Maybe higher in a few years. — 4 years ago
Strikingly fragrant nose and intense palate. Juicy palate that finishes bone dry, stony and lengthy. Crunchy tart apple and citrus. Stand out amongst six Grand Crus from the same vintage and producer. — 6 years ago
Light balanced really nice — 8 months ago
A typical Alsatian nose, with a summer meadow in full bloom, orchard apples, a touch of peach. There’s also a rocky, mineral saline whiff.
On the palate this remains focused, linear and pure. There’s round fruity richness yet there’s also great tension & energy, too. Beautifully balanced and lip smacking delicious! — 5 years ago
Rounder, softer style compared with the other sites. A honeyed note amongst the citrus, and a soft finish. — 6 years ago
A nice surprise. Begins with the big round mouth you’d expect from the grape, but immediately tightens to tart cherries, currant, and slate. — a year ago
Excellent Riesling, crispy, fruity — 6 years ago
Fascinating riesling. Fragrant floral nose, citrus blossom or jasmine. Intense palate that erupts, full of mineral and spice, then softens at the end. — 6 years ago
Enjoying this one. — 7 years ago
