6th Sense Lodi Syrah

Oddly enough it does connect with you more each time you have some. Most enjoyable to have multiple small servings spread out over the day or a couple days. Not overbearing but still has good body. — a month ago

Fattoria Poggio di Sotto

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Delectable Wine
9.7

It's such a pleasure to taste the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino from Poggio di Sotto; this is easily one of the wines of the vintage. Its bouquet is pure class, balsamic, exotic and spicy. A blend of dried orange and cloves gives way to sweet lavender and black cherries. Elegant and silky, yet with cooling acidity and depths of tart red berry fruits, the 2016 impresses further with a salty savoriness and a sense of sheer energy. It leaves a coating of dusty tannins and dark florals to resonate, displaying a youthful concentration slowly easing as traces of licorice fade through the incredibly long finish. Château Palmer

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Paul K
9.5

Got a great deal on 6 pack of these two Bordeaux greats. Both got scores of 99, but the range of scores was pretty wide for both as well. I know I have to lay them down for 10 years+ but I wanted to try both for a baseline.
The Palmer is showing a lot more than the Ducru. It’s very enjoyable now! Nose is fantastic if a touch muted but still get nice cedar, black cherry, hint of floral, and something herbal. The palate is slate, cherry, blackberry, and currant. Not muted or closed in the least, but the slate thing overlays the fruit. Does that make sense? Help me describe that.
All in all I love this wine. Can’t hardly wait for 10 years from now. Guessing I won’t!

Finca y Bodega Vistalba Tomero

Corte A Red Blend 2018

I got the sense this big beautiful #argentine #malbec blend was just beginning to develop after 6 years of bottle age with decades left to mature. Still delicious, layers of blue/purple fruit, dried herb and spice notes. — a month ago

Château Bellefont-Belcier

Grand Cru Classe St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2020 Bellefont-Belcier has quite a backward nose, rather introspective with black fruit, cedar and cigar box aromas. It's more dark than light. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins, fleshy yet with well-judged acidity and pure, lightly spiced black fruit towards the harmonious finish. This conveys a sense of flow that I appreciate. One to watch. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2023) — 2 years ago

Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2021 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard is laced with crushed red berry fruit. Spice, tobacco and mint are some of the notes that grace this expressive, nuanced Pinot. The 2021 was done with fully destemmed fruit, but there is a sense of savoriness here that is quite attractive. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023) — a year ago

It’s been a little bit since we’ve had this but this was quite different than we recall. Much less acidity. I don’t know if that makes sense and wouldn’t mention it if we both didn’t say the same thing. Still just lovely, actually I loved it with toned down acidity. Is that just time? Doesn’t feel like enough time to make that difference? — 2 years ago
