SARL Pinto

Es d'Aqui M&M Red Blend

Still juicy, still fruit punch. A perfect bottle for a group hang/dinner party. Fun, light, serious wine but splashy. A true heater. — 3 months ago

Champs Fulliots Monthélie 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2021

Everything I love about Burgundy. Light bodied, intensely perfumed fresh roses; flavors of cherry, raspberries, spice, earth, acidity; grip. Tannins and acidity should mellow with some age. It’s got it all. Continues to evolve with more air and the fruit seems to get sweeter. What a great wine. @Lyle Fass — 8 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Meursault Chardonnay 2022

Nose: elegant tropicality. White flowers.

Palate: elegantly tropical. Delicious. Very lovely. Some white flowers.

Still has some oak spice. Better in 18 months. But good now. Most people won’t be bothered.

Bought Dec 2022, ~$11 @ Costco, New Britain, CT
Tasted side by side with 2015 vintage.
Crisper than it’s 7 year old counterpart. Same base notes, but leaning toward more focused acidity with a sweet touch- green apple, pear, lemon. No butteriness, just clean & fresh. Again, lovely wine, lovely $$. 10/10 would buy again. Would like to try aging this myself if I can get more!

Vieilles Vignes Pommard Pinot Noir 2021

Needs 2 years but a great wine. Still has a bit of oak. Not undrinkable now but better in 2 years.

Really clean and intense midseason cherry fruit. Some cherry spice. So clean. Savory a bit. Sweet cherry fruit. Very good deliciousness.

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1983

(Two previous 1983 wine reviews never made it on here, so copying from my CT).

Continuing a run of ‘83s over the last 3-6 months, this not only showed quite well, but it was at its best after almost two hours in the bottle. Whereas the ‘83 Pichon was clean and elegant, this was a bit more dense and powerful. Beautifully expressive aromatics of potpourri, espresso, fig and leather with a flavor profile mostly on the red/black fruit side of the spectrum. The mid-palate showed good weight and continued to bulk-up during the evening. Old cherry-tobacco note at the finish. Honestly, this drank like it was more early ‘90s than it was early ‘80s. Good.
