Uninterrupted rim saturation. Dark plum with rich pressed blackberry aromas; Applewood charcoal smoke, suede, and charred bacon. Violets and safe vie for recognition through a textbook panoply. Black and red plum bounce in the thick blackberry, with thyme and rosemary now, black pepper dusted grilled meat, dried lavender and sapling oak, blue spruce nettle, morel, pencil shavings, cottonseed, cassis, and black currant. There is an iron feel sifting through fine earth dust that seems to re-emerge on the finish. This is a real beauty with a stunning combo of finess and sinewy, farm strength. Sun-bronzed and Hands-on, she is a perfect assimilation of her environment. Great look!

Everything in the Sapling series is insanely good. — 7 years ago
Pale gold, white floral tuberose & fennel slices. Green sapling note. Floral, rosewater, lemon, beautiful high acidity. — 9 years ago
The first bottle of potters was so good I had to open another one and it is fantastic. This will be a favorite going forward! The grapefruit is subtle and is balanced with the hibiscus. Lovely! — 4 years ago
I gazed into the recesses of one of my wine fridges and saw this young sapling; I could not resist the call of indulgence. Remarkable purity of fruit with plums, cherries, rose petals, mint, graphite, and tilled earth. Looking forward to this opening up. — 6 years ago
smells show earth, leather, bark, candied red cherry, fur, black raspberry, very ripe blackberry, faint cinnamon
flavors of slightly candied red cherry, tarragon and sage, old wood, kalamata, peeled sapling, ripe plum, dry earth, faint leather, a little meat. this is beautifully balanced- no one element emerges above the others- but the whole is great. also feels like a nice new/old world synthesis. a pleasure to drink. — 8 years ago
Espresso black with mocha toppings. Unctuous pointillism of zygote fossilization. Carbon paper, licorice, treacle, Turkish coffee, toffee, and a sapling-meets-whiskey, cinnamon, gingerbread, dried fig, and sarsaparilla scented number. (My wife thinks this tastes of cough syrup, but it is just whiskey centric) big, charred whiskey entry with dark caramel and Christmas pudding, that turns to burnt fructose. Awesome depth and breadth! .

Third times a charm! App keeps crashing on me.
thanks @Les Doss for the gift!
Tarragon and pomegranate seed permeate the nose, and give a the impression of a huge punch getting ready to smack you up side the pallete.
Yet, the wine comes on light and full juice blackberry, then starts its filtration through gravel, and root. Valencia orange like acidity and young sapling tannins bring this wine to a very interesting finish. Yum. — 6 years ago
Lavender heavy on the nose, tarragon and charred sapling on river water surface. Grape-y, but earlier it was grape lip gloss and nail polish. It has since cast off the acrid robe to reveal a softer side. Herbaceous to be sure with purple sage, rosemary and orange mint. Soft and black- plummy but silky and layered. Good depth at this price point. — 9 years ago
