Plum, pencil lead, cinnamon, clove, cooked blueberries, rhubarb pie, oak, cedar, with some tertiary notes of raisins and mushrooms. High tannins, medium plus acid, medium plus finish, and high alcohol. If you like bright fruity wines, this isn’t it. Rather, it is an interesting rustic wine that I’d pair with Italian sausage, pot roast, and smoked ribs. Drink now. I don’t think it would benefit from aging. — 2 years ago
A little tart but good — 3 years ago
Plenty of fancy cursive script here on the label. Great dark inviting color. Smells a bit like rocks by the riverside. Fruit is pretty buried. Not the biggest nose here. Flavors of fresh cut wood, cherry-berry juice, and some spice. Savory pork bar-b-Q too. Fresh, bright and likable Temp. This is a nice bottle for a nice price. Could drink it anytime. — 4 years ago

I recall loving Roberto Henriquez’ Rivera del Notro white, but his 2018 País just blew my mind. After all, he is one of Chile's most promising young winemakers and largely responsible (alongside Luyt) for the resurgence of Pipeño, a derogatory slang for peasant wine generally made with the local País or Mission grape. Grapes for this wine were sourced from 200-year-old vines in Nacimiento, in the Bio Bio region, about 300 miles south of Santiago. Light-bodied, elegant and super drinkable 😋 — 7 years ago
