Nectarines! Wow this tastes exactly like nectarines. Definitely funk and acidity from the base beer, but the nose and palate are all juicy nectarines. — 5 days ago
Eagle Ridge is one of my favorite boutique wineries in Livermore. They use all estate grapes and the Petite Sirah is their signature wine. This 6 year old PS has flavors of plum and brambleberries. — 9 days ago
Nice one. Surprisingly tannic after 22 years.
Winemaker’s Comments: 77% Merlot & 23% Cabernet Franc. Fruity, elegant, aromatic bouquet with hints of mint & anise. Smooth tannin / acid / fruit balance. Complex. Unfined and unfiltered. Bottled March, 1999. Only 89 cases produced. — 14 hours ago
128-yr. old vines. Super-rich, but I wish they had picked a bit earlier. This winery sources great Zin fruit from unique historical sources but they’re always over 15%. I cant help but think the wines would be more interesting and flexible if they picked earlier. In any event, this is quite good and shows very ripe Zin character, but the acids are low and the effect of some bottle age is a flatter mouthfeel. Still very good. — 19 days ago
Stellar. Many young vintages of this wine show their oak more than this. Sure there’s a coconut whiskey barrel note but more prominently incredibly smooth and supple tannins wrapped around cherry and plum notes with hints of dried herbs and graphite. Stunner. Drink now or hold for three decades or anywhere in between. — 14 days ago
Bad photo, good wine. Dusty tannins, deep and multi-layered. A tiny bit vegetal at first with tart cherry notes, but time in glass allowed the deep blue fruits and cassis to come out. Paired well with a prime ribeye. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation @Bill Bender !! — 17 days ago
