More muscular than the Gallina (rightfully so!), but in no way lacking finesse. Concentrated with assertive tannins, yet so lithe and pure. On the nose, roses, incense, cherries, strawberries, eucalyptus, juniper, leather, and a touch of tar. With air, the fruits came to the forefront, popping out with such clarity. On the palate, the young Barolo tannins did seem to dominate, but under it was a really fine red fruit character that gave it such a lovely drinkability. Some minerality in the lengthy finish, though not quite as palpable as on the Gallina. WOTN for all on the table. Compared to the Gallina, I can’t quite say one was better than the other - just different Roagna interpretations of Nebbiolo. — 4 months ago
I really want more out of these wines. — 5 months ago
Lovely. Had a few glasses at my favorite wine bar. Gave me a “splash” on the house.
So atypical of Chardonnay. And so damn zesty and suave. Tropical fruits, not oaky at all, really pretty. — 3 months ago

Young and a little sweet still. Nice tannins, nuanced pepper and tobacco. Needs 5 more years. — 7 months ago

More a show jumper than a thoroughbred, the 2015 Pajè Barbaresco from Roagna is light on its feet and well-balanced, but reaches great heights. High-toned red fruit (strawberry at the top), baking spice, and florals jump from the glass one-after-another and land softly on a a base of minerality. Drinking beautifully. — 5 days ago
