2022/9/23 with fresh porcini risotto and omelette. If compared to the effusive and universal praise for this wine (including that it was yet to close up), this could be said to be slightly underwhelming. Delicious to be sure, with tangy acidity and floral and earthy aromas, but the fruit seemed to be hiding a bit, both on the nose and the mid palate. Perhaps it is in fact a bit closed - it seemed to be hinting at opening after several hours but didn’t quite get there on this evening, and these bites reflect that context specifically - it could be a different story with more age, or just a different bottle.
