Mariano’s Garcias crown jewel, he was the front man at Vega Sicilia for three decades. He then founded Aalto with the vision of creating the highest quality RdD which you didn’t have to wait fifteen years to enjoy. Many think he’s done it! I pretty much agree. — 6 months ago
Testet 200 kr vin fra Ribera Del Duero etter Christers anbefaling av området. Nydelig vin, bra fylde, dyp og mørk farge. — 6 months ago
Expressive nose of dark cherries, blackberries, clove, strawberry, a hint of caramel, well integrated oak. In the mouth the tannins are still harsh, thinner Ribera (this is Soria, they filmed Dr Zhivago here). Drunk too young (the story of my life) — 8 months ago
Value for your money = RIDICULOus !! … I really don’t know what you are waiting for to get a whole case…. — 5 months ago
Mariano García’s final vintage at Vega Sicilia. What a great bottle.
The nose opens with damp forest floor, leather, cedar, and quiet red fruit; subtle, reserved, endlessly composed.
On the palate, it’s silk laid gently over structure: dried cherry, tobacco, graphite, and savory earth carried by fine-grain tannins and measured acidity.
The finish reads like the final lines of a great novel: inevitable, complete, and exactly as it should be. And already, there’s a touch of nostalgia, because I don’t know when I’ll encounter something like this again. — 6 months ago
Reached its apogee and shined at the Christmas dinner table. Creamy, Smokey, delicate and long. A pure treat. Best one yet, one left. — 6 months ago

Love it, enough body enough dry for chilling — 8 months ago
Pingus, named after childhood nickname, deep Ruby with concentrated dark fruit aromas and gently smoky notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum, licorice, sweet vanilla spice, well balanced, fine grainy tannins, long finish ending with slight oaky tones. Very Nice! — 6 months ago
Klassisk stil. Mycket bra vin — 6 months ago
Ribera at it’s peak of the drinking window. Seductive dark fruit backed with elegant vanilla, cedar and subtle bacon fat. Love it. Bought directly from Jorge Monzon. Fascinating visit. Still taste the Albillo. 😉 — 7 months ago
Cork went backwards into the bottle, but was intact. Lovely medium-red color, faint bricking on edge, dried red fruits, subtle American oak, very suave on the palate, yet still shows some tannic grip into the long, lingering finish, I’ve long adored these 1980s/early 1990s Pesquera “regular” Ribera del Duero tintos, which avoided the much more lavishly oaked Janus Riserva cuvée, and most amazingly, how long these $18-20 regular cuvées will age!! — 8 months ago
