With the Jerviks, MacKinnons, Cade, and Kaylin. Bold merlot. Beautiful setting. — 4 years ago
Gorgeous. Floral indeed. Kept for 3+ days on the table — 8 years ago
My WOTN at a dinner with Michael Keenan (with some 15 different cuvées in tow, so settle in...). A bit more brooding than the ‘14. Still with great purity, but a bit more powerful and savory. “The Original” is a reference to the restoration of the Mailbox Vineyard to its original configuration, namely Merlot. — 8 years ago

Cocktail hour at Christie's hosted by the Friends of Notre Dame in the effort to help raise money for the cathedral's restoration. The wines were artfully curated by @Noah May. First up was this beguiling Chenin Blanc that was golden in color and burst with peaches, orange peel and spice cake. Its richness coats the mouth. A fascinating wine. — 8 years ago
Gift from The Restoration in Asheville. Easy to sip, delightful wine. — 8 months ago
Medium purple in color; blackberries, black plums, and cedar on the nose; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like black cherries, blueberries, red currants, and anise with a long finish. — a year ago
Another restoration of Red Burgundy faith of a variety of expressions. This one is in the middle of spectrum of perfumed fruit and weight and firm texture. Earthiness and mature tart red fruits that still have years to go. Excellent. — 6 years ago
Crazy good. Like dr browns black cherry soda meets restoration hardware leather couch. Look at bill’s socks and slides in the background lol. We ate too much guacamole so now we’re reheating Chinese food for dinner instead of actual cooking. This rosé will pair beautifully. — 8 years ago

The third of the wines served was this exquisite Sauternes that burst with apricots, honey and orange peel. Sometimes I wish I had the occasion to drink dessert wines more often. This was one of those moments. — 8 years ago
aka ELIXIR OF RESTORATION. This after-work wine is best with dark meat or tacos. — 8 years ago
Pale, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of plum, cherries, and cedar; on the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of blackberries, red currants, and clay pots with a long finish. This wine is complex, and intense, but the tannins and alcohol are a little out of balance with the acidity and fruit. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie didn't like it. — 9 months ago
Bf: sex on a restoration hardware tufted couch and your face is buried in a pillow.
j: vanilla, cedar, and good times. Fragrance of Tuscan slather.

a.k.a. Restoration White. Olsen Ranch Vineyard, 100 cases made. Pale yellow, very good clarity. Floral, stone fruit and sulfite notes in nose. Heavier mouthfeel. Dry. Citrus, stone and tropical fruit flavors, some minerality, slight skin astringency in finish. Lemon-lime aftertaste. Complex, elegant. Website also mentions lees contact, but it's subtle. — 8 years ago

Second up was this delicious and supple white burgundy. Pears and apple blossom combine in this texturally elegant wine. The finish is adequate if a little stilted. It should be noted that when I had this wine with an elegantly crafted canapé, both exploded with taste. Next time it will be a whole bottle with a full meal! — 8 years ago
Tempranillo and 10% Syrah from vineyards in Tudela de Duero and aged for 16 months. Mauro was created in the 1970's by Luciano Suarez, specializing in the restoration of medieval monuments, and Felix Choque, cousin of Mariano Garcia, the former winemaker at Vega Sicilia. Flavors of raspberry and cherry some leather and earthy pepper. The wine had good balance with oak on fine tannins. Lingering finish ending with earthy tones. — 9 years ago

Oldest wine served at “From the Cellar.” Paired with the dish of event.
I met Tim who was pouring initially. He is the main person behind the VC group that bought the property and three others out of BK in 1999. We all know what happened the next yr with the Glass Fires. Very unfortunate coupled w/ bad timing.
The hope to have all the restoration worked completed by 2030. They have already started replanting the vineyards that were consumed in the fire. Priority number one as it is roughly 7 yrs before you get usable fruit for quality wines.
He brought a 3L of the 79. Mags of 90, 96, 97, 05 & 06 to the event.
