Acidic notes on the nose, but smoother than expected. Still get some tartness typically seen in chiantis — 2 months ago

Castellare di Castellina

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2022

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2022 Chianti Classico is a fine introduction to the Castellare range. Silky, aromatic and light on its feet, this is a wine of tremendous appeal. The 2022 is on the fruitier side, but its balance is impeccable. Hints of spice, leather and citrus linger on the mid-weight finish. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2024)

Castello di Querceto

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2018

This benefited from 2 hours of air. After decanting, there’s loads of ripe and slightly sour cherry fruit, along with balsamic, savory tones and fragrant stony gravel. Very soft in the mouth, there’s very little tannin and what is there is super soft. Not super concentrated but very tasty. — 5 months ago
