After sending back an oxidized, tired 2020 Rossi di Montalcino, the Somm had the waiter bring back this wine at around the same price point. Don’t sleep on #barberadalba from a great producer. Raspberry, plum, dusty dark fruit nose. So vibrant on the palate with lush yet tangy dark red fruit on the entry, gossamer tannins on the finish. Corking it after dinner and after the next day in the wine fridge still as alive. — 23 days ago
RW’s bday party at Chi Spacca. We all loved it. Very smooth and balanced. Barolo-like — 23 days ago
The 2021 Barbaresco is a gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed red berry fruit, cedar, spice, mint and orange peel are all beautifully lifted in this ethereal, understated Barbaresco from Prunotto. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2024)

Peppery plum is really shining through on this one. Red licorice and dried spice accents. Tannic grape skin gives it some grip. Long raisin finish. Like the Sun-Maid boxes I ate as a kid. A little sweet for me, but still good quality. Also added some to the passata I’m making from heirloom tomatoes, and it’s quite nice. — a month ago

Absolutely fantastic wine. Berry-esque and acidic to taste. Simplistic in its way, I feel that is why it speaks out so much. Angus ribeye and mashed potato cake is great with it. — 7 days ago
