A wonderful wine to celebrate seeing our daughter whose been studying abroad. I think @Mike R would be proud of this selection. — 3 years ago
Pop and pour. Haven't tasted this in a little over 5 years. so I'm proud of my discipline. Notes from 3 hrs open. On the nose: soft peach, mango, lovely florals, the barest hint of lees and a kiss of petrol. The aromatics are frankly stunning. On the palate: faaaantastic acidity, lime, meyer lemon, underripe peach, sour mango, and amazing density and length. Wow, just starting to show its true colors, already lovely, and what promise the future holds. — 3 years ago
Inky color. Berries and mild tobacco and deeper plums. Tannins on the finish. Lush mouthfeel. — 3 years ago
a german Riesling proud and loud about its' terroir.
high high acidity leading the way for a full body half dry juice.
and it is very juicy!
mostly lemon (juice, peel, curd and pie) with added grass and hay, a green apple and that hinted kerosine.
long 🎯
no complexity and no 🎇
but 100% real wine.
paired lovely with hummus and falafel with added spicy sauce. — 10 months ago
Clean, medium + intense aroma with a good concentration and nuanced complexity. Dark Bernier, cassis, blackberries, sweet plums, bell pepper and floral undertones; Lavender. A balanced portion of oak character with Sweet spices, tobacco, vanilla and a vague gravelly background.
Dry palate with a medium + acidity, medium + tannins with a balanced fruity texture. Despite opening with a good grip it lets you in rather soon, embracing and balancing the dark fruits and sweet oak on the palate. Dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate characters on the palate. A bit limping through the mid palate but regains its posture and walks proud over a medium + length and balanced finish. — 4 years ago

2022 vintage. A relatively new estate ( first vintage 1972, and bought in 1993 by Belgian MD Gaëtan Lagneaux, who sadly passed away at the age of 50 in 2012). His son Adrien has directed the estate ever since, and I believe his father would have been proud of him tasting this 2022. I don't know the exact blend for this vintage, but the vineyard is planted with 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot. A little less colour compared to Coutelin-Merville tasted alongside , but more refined in both nose and taste. Abv. 13,5 %.
