Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2001

20 years old & still drinking well. But drink it deliberately as it will begin to fade after 45 minutes open.
Nose of ripe fruit, tobacco, & a bit of spice. There is plenty of raisin/ripe cherry on the palate with initial strong tannin that softens and underlies the still velvety structure of the wine. It is a fully mature wine that should be consumed now as it will begin to fade in 2022.

This Tuscan Cab/Merlot blend was terrific. It has aged beautifully and paired very well with a variety of excellent, authentic Italian dishes. — 18 days ago

Poggio Antico

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2006

Perfect. Expressive of classic brunello 👀 deep red. 👃🏻 wet bridle leather, cherry and nutmeg. 👅 nice fruit - lots of tannins and good structure - 90 minutes after opening showing great length - long elegant finish. A lovely wine…last one left …but couldn’t resist. 🤓 — 24 days ago

Poggio Landi Winery

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

A beautifully balanced wine. Nose has walnut, gravel, iron, intense ripe chokecherry, a little eucalyptus thing. Mouthfilling flavors but in a medium intensity, natural, not overly extracted style. Tannins are quite soft, and there’s nice acidity. Very nice, lengthy finish turns quite minerally and savory. — a month ago
