Love this natty wine. Super fruity but a good funk and just the right amount of must to hold it all together — 6 years ago
stone fruits, fleshy green olives, subtle floral notes. reminds me of a creamier chenin blanc — 7 years ago
Strawberry and tamerind - so delicious — 7 years ago
Really nice and interesting cinsault! Medium bodied and red fruit forward, nice tartness and minerality — 7 months ago
Had this bottle since before the pandemic and assumed it was toast but to my surprise it was still fresh and drinking great with buzz saw acidity — 2 years ago
Light and dry but funky, almost yeasty tannins mixed with berries. Distinct old vine Chilean varietals that I would like to see more of. — 4 years ago
Limes, floral, lemon zest -- perfect acidity. Nice with a slightly spicy (Aleppo) dish. Love this. — 6 years ago
I recall loving Roberto Henriquez’ Rivera del Notro white, but his 2018 País just blew my mind. After all, he is one of Chile's most promising young winemakers and largely responsible (alongside Luyt) for the resurgence of Pipeño, a derogatory slang for peasant wine generally made with the local País or Mission grape. Grapes for this wine were sourced from 200-year-old vines in Nacimiento, in the Bio Bio region, about 300 miles south of Santiago. Light-bodied, elegant and super drinkable 😋 — 7 years ago
Nice red from Chile at Food Studio Hudson.
$48 — 8 years ago
Pale to medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary aromas of lavender, cherries and hibiscus; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary flavors of raspberries, red currants, and tart cherries with a long finish. This wine is complex and with enough fruit to balance the acidity. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 7 months ago
More than meets the eye. Looks tutti-frutti, and it is, but shuffles in an extra layer of punchy stuff to play with. As it seems to go with Pipeno....floral, herbal, little complexities and bigger ABVs.
At first strawberry watermelon jolly rancher. Then rose petals and fennel bulbs.
It's simple, but not basic. — 3 years ago
A lil earthy but still really refreshing. I think I prefer it to the Aupa Pipeño — 5 years ago
