Huge expansive red and black cherries on the nose that are super pure. Just stunning clarity here. Big time cotton candy and also Fun Dip. Stunning depth of aroma and my goodness it is so pure. Palate is super pure, teeming with energy and limestone and wonderful black and red cherry fruit but presented with a pastille like texture. So sapid and deep. Really opening up from its 18 slumber. Super juicy and wonderful acids and big but firm and ripe 18 tannins. Long finish. Will be back as it airs. Super mineral finish. — 9 months ago
Nose is steely, mineral and refined. Apple skins, lime zest. Very very mineral as St. Romain tends to be. Palate is terrific. Juicy, super pure and very concentrated with outstanding clarity and freshness. Best version yet. Lovely balance. Very complex and so delicious. This is a great wine. So chewy on the finish. Green fruits all the way. — 2 years ago
Smells like 18! Concentrated and macerated dark cherries. Just so many. Almost jammy but not quite. Some nice leather notes. So much material. Super sleek, refined and concentrated. Bursting with mid to late season cherry fruit and wonderful sap and purity. Showing so well. A big wine but super balanced. Pierrick did a great job in 2018. — 8 months ago
Nose is a bit woody but also clear and precise. Cherry pit, red cherry flesh. Brambley raspberries. Palate has great concentration and such tiny berry fruit intensity. Black cherry and black cherry pastille. Superb purity and great cut and flavor delineation. A little better than a recent 17 Robardelle. Sappy and fresh. Just lovely stuff. These need really 24 hours to become more elegant and expressive but very very good now with a 45 minute splash decant. — 2 years ago
I opened this for whatever reason. Anyway, big, enveloping, youthful and grapey nose, grape jelly, mineral and raspberry coulis. Smells very ripe but shows the class of CDC. But jammy but classy jam. Palate is a classic 18. Massive and I mean Herculaneun with huge extract, stoney tannins, good freshness and massive massive minerals. Long finish but my goodness this is super duper young. Lol, 18 clos des chenes and I call myself a wine professional. 9.2 on pleasure and 9.8 on potential. I’ll settle in at a 9.5 — 8 months ago

Very good 18’s here. Deep luscious wine with deep blackberry and black cherry fruit. Furry tannins and lovely mineral freshness. Nose is insanely complex and deep with stones, black cherry liquer, black cherry essence, spice and dark florals Really great. Wonderful mouthfeel and a tiny bit of heat that I hope resolves with air. — 6 months ago
