Light ruby color. Aromas of fresh herbs, baking spices and red berry fruit. Expressive palate notes bright red cherry/raspberry and strawberry fruit, the aforementioned baking spices and wet soil Pleasant note of purple flowers on the long and lingering finish. Well balanced with pronounced acidity. Velvety mouthfeel. — 8 months ago

Well, color me surprised. I’ve been to South Africa twice mainly in the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek areas but I’ve never had a Pinot noir from there. This was a revelation. I have to admit we were first eating it with an Indian style sausage and beet curry so it initially did not go well at all. After drinking it apart from the food, it was delicate and lovely. Definitely a nose of earthy forest floor and herbaceous drinking to very light, almost strawberry flavor to it. Well, balanced sweetness without being cloying and juicy enough to go well with what our dessert cheese course was. — 2 years ago
