Light to medium extracted pigment, purple-red. Raspberry and menthol notes in nose. Blueberry and raspberry flavors, moderately high seed tannin bitterness and skin astringency initially, suggesting long skin and seed contact time, atypical in most Oregon Pinots. Give it time for the tannins to settle. Fresh grape pulp flavors on aftertaste. Light, fresh, fruity style typical of Day Wines, but healthy tannins too — 7 days ago

Kirby & Pickle Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Different farm animals on every one of their wines, fun concept... and the wine is very good as well. Ruby red, light to moderate pigment extraction, very good clarity. Cherry and briar notes in nose, extremely fragrant. Cherry, mint and candied fruit flavors, good complexity in profile, menthol aftertaste with light lingering skin astringency and slight seed bitterness. Astringency increases to moderate intensity. Barrel smoke emerges after an hour. Decant two hours for tannins to soften for good flavor expression and soft, rounded mouthfeel. Raspberry and cola flavors eventually emerge. — 18 days ago

Yup. Still a fantastic wine for the price point. Had with BBQ baked potatoes and it held up to the kick in the BBQ sauce. Probably not the best choice of wine with our dinner but I still enjoyed it. — 8 days ago

Pleasantly surprised with this Oregon Pinot Noir. Oregon is usually light and leaves you feeling hungry for more. Gestalt Block Pinot Noir 2016

The 2016 Brittan Vineyards ‘Gestalt Block’ is a scintillating new release by this storied Oregon winery. Sourced from their vineyard in the McMinnville AVA, as the ‘Gestalt Block’ is set on their western facing hillside that is set on broken basalt. Deeply colored once in the glass, the ‘Gestalt Block’ starts off with deep wet stone influence that connects with the shades of cran-pomegranate and guava with peat moss aromas that all collide in the glass. The mouth-watering acidity of the wine is truly gorgeous, as is the great sense of stony terroir. Silky and soft on the mouth, this delivers gobs of racy acidity and a light dusting of salinity that runs through the dark fruits and earthy undertones on the palate.
