[Sorry couldn't find an entry, logging here Failla 2018 Pearl essence] Single clone - Martini. One taste it surely reminds me of a bottle of Burn Cottage I had a while ago - the same acid lift and acid structure, tomato leaf, sour cranberry, citrusy and bright, red flowers and white + black peppers. 400-500 feet inland, super cool microclimate. Ah it turns out both connected to ted lemon! — 4 years ago
If you snagged a few bottles of this wine in your allocation you can feel comfortable opening a bottle soon - let the wine evolve in your glass. If you’re patient, you’ll be greatly rewarded by tucking a few bottles in your cellar for 5+ (and up to 11) years. 77% of the fruit comes from DuMOL’s O’Connell Estate Vineyard and 23% from Occidental Road Vineyard. Finn is always layered with a velvety finish, and always a Member favorite. — 5 years ago

Pour of the evening in front of the last rugby game of the 2026 6 Nations tournament (what a game!). Almond, blackberry, licorice, smoke. This is not your typical grenache nose. The palate is showing some moderately powerful acid drive, it's full bodied, with an impressive width, some thick, concentrated matter, some nice fruity notes all along, a bit of an oaky, smoky touch, some tannins in the rear, giving a bit of a drying layer over a quite long blackberry, smoky, oaky finish with a bit of a bitter note in the end. It's quite structured, muscular and concentrated for a grenache but it's delivering a great tasting experience. Great pour! — 3 months ago
Slight nod over the Rivers-Marie 2013 Gioia (still very fruit driven) and Failla 2013 Occidental Ridge. The Littorai was the most evolved and Burgundian of the bunch. — 9 months ago
Bought this at the Cellar Door several years ago on the boys Rugby trip to Melbourne. A light to medium crimson with a tawny transparent appearance. A nose of fresh red fruits (cherry) with a savoury twist. Some earthy sinewy nuances. A light to medium bodied palate. On the 2nd day more savoury, more perfumed and more attractive. An excellent Pinot Noir from a good Pinot Noir district as in the Mornington Peninsula. — 4 years ago

This opened up with ripe blackberries and licorice on the nose. This is a dark rich treat. In the palate rich dark red fruit, touch of rock, earth and dusty soil. Think of this wine as a rugby player that can dance at the royal ballet. Big yet graceful, with soft touches that linger nicely. I though it to be rather balanced and delicious. — 7 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of red and black fruits with light wood, black tea, spices, light licorice, chocolates, herbs and tobacco leaf.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, chocolates, tobacco, light cedar, herbs, licorice, light earth and black pepper.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and complex. Nicely balanced and easy drinking, with a nice mouthfeel.
This 12-year-old Pinot Noir is drinking beautifully now, and drinking at its peak. Will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.
Wine Advocate 95 points.
Drinking beautifully by itself with a light chill.
100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in (30% new) French Oak barrels for 12 months. Unfiltered and unfined.

Great company, brought a Boheme, Occidental, Kosta Browne, and A Chev. Great foursome of Pinots! Boheme standing tall and driving a jammy strawberry fruit forward profile but finishing long and strong with berries and blue fruits!! Thanks Kurt! — 4 years ago
Dark and rich. Red berry and cherry pop with some dried herd nots in the back ground. — 5 years ago

Quite a show. Impressive aromatics and a pedigreed balance that commands attention. A top CA Pinot. - at AR Valentien — 14 days ago
