Thick, chewy, full bodied Douro, heavy taste of black cherry and slightly smoky. — 2 months ago
A sweeter style than some of the other houses and for me the sugar overpowers it a little - masks some of the exciting nutty fun going on after nearly 30 years in the bottle. I see other reviewers complain of a lack of acidity in other vintages, that’s interesting as this one is very present. The tannins have died. Would be curious to see if the flattening of sugars and acidity bring this into balance in another 50ish… — 2 months ago
Ripe yet cool aromas with melon, peach, white flowers, a touch of toasted almonds, a salty note. Rich, yes, but also surprisingly very fresh. Enticing!
Medium bodied on the palate, juicy, fresh. Lovely slaty, rocky minerality on the forefront with some peach and pear underlining it. Nice depth here and nice length with a slaty tang on the finish.
Delicious stuff with quite some weight & elegance. — 5 months ago
Another bottle I forgot to get a picture of in situ. Made from Tinta Negra in canteiro. A caramel glaze about to burned brown color, veering into golden brown at the rim. Utterly mouthwatering (and I should say nose quivering) aromas of caramel, brown sugar, sugarcane, molasses, coffee, and dark chocolate, plus a hint of earth and smoke. It is sweet, oh yes, it is, but the acid is bracing. The palate confirms the nose with the addition of caramelized grapefruit, figs, dates and cocoa. Geez Louise, it’s good. Almost cola on the finish. — 2 years ago

A very nice Encruzado blending the fruity (salty pears, reine claude plums, green melon) with a cool mineral core. Nicely balanced with zippy acidity, medium body, a touch of creaminess on the palate and very nice, long finish.
Moreish & very drinkable. — 7 days ago
