Achei bem corposo. Muito bom. Gosto redondo. É interessante pra um primeiro date — 5 months ago
Another outstanding vintage of this excellent Southern Italian white. A blend of Chardonnay (60%), Fiano (20%) and Wild Muscatel (20%). Golden straw color. Aromas of peaches, lemon, white flowers and vanilla. The palate features a mix of citrus fruits, spices and minerals. A little more noticeable vanilla and oak on the finish than prior vintages. Nice creamy texture and crisp acidity. Rich, expressive and thirst quenching. Revisited in January 2024. Still excellent! Revisited again in June 2025. Still excellent but reaching the end of its drinking window. — 3 years ago

San Marzano EDDA — Bianco 2022
Salento IGP, Puglia, Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
A true IGP-minded blend of 60% Chardonnay, 20% Fiano, and 20% White Moscatel, bringing international and native varieties together with purpose. Chardonnay provides the backbone, Fiano contributes Mediterranean character and tension, while White Moscatel adds aromatic lift. A cerebral southern Italian white with considerably more going on than the first sip suggests.
Aromas & Flavors
Ripe peach, apricot, yellow apple, citrus, and delicate floral notes unfold into subtle tropical and aromatic nuances. The fruit is generous but never one-dimensional.
Mouthfeel
Medium- to full-bodied, layered, and textured, with enough acidity and tension to keep the richness controlled. Aging in French barriques on the lees adds depth and roundness, while the Fiano helps maintain freshness and character.
Food Pairings
Grilled fish, roasted chicken, seafood risotto, creamy pasta, grilled vegetables, or richer Mediterranean dishes.
Verdict
Not a patio pounder—and that is precisely its charm. EDDA has structure, personality, and enough layers to make you slow down and pay attention. A thoughtful blend that uses Chardonnay as its foundation without allowing Chardonnay to dominate the conversation.
Did You Know?
“Edda” means “she” in the local Puglian dialect. Its unconventional blend and Salento IGP designation give San Marzano considerable freedom to combine Chardonnay with the distinctly southern Italian personality of Fiano and aromatic White Moscatel.
🍷 Personal Pick
This is my kind of cerebral white: stone-fruited, layered, textured, and carrying just enough tension to activate the senses. It isn’t asking to disappear quickly from the glass, it wants you to think about what you’re drinking. — 20 days ago
Great Puglian white wine bright white wine with a smooth refreshing finish. — 3 years ago
This was interesting - if served blind I would have thought it to be a French blend of Sauvignon Blanc with vermentino or rousanne - very aromatic, medium acids and a decent finish. I believe this was a local Salento wine so nice to see that they can retain aromas and acidity in such a dry mediterranean climate. — 4 years ago
Gorgeous, bright lemon fruit. Low acid. Very dry. This is a serious bargain. — 8 years ago
Bright apple at the front with some weight in the back. Really digging this Fiano. Great price point too — 9 years ago
vintage 2013 | Trouvaille from Salento. My Sunday bubble. Made with the classic methode from Bianco d’Alessano and Fiano. Ten years sur lie (!). It is friendly and exciting. I figured out what do I smell? Roses with hints of caramel. In the taste hints of peach, easy drinking. Paired with French bread with nut salami and tunafish salad for breakfast. Unbelievable, it sells for the price of a song. ❤️ — 4 months ago
Citrusy , slightly buttery — a year ago
Pale gold in color; lemon, honeydew, and orange peel; medium acidity; tastes like honeydew, white flowers, and beeswax with a long finish. It's light and refreshing. Easy drinking. Nellie likes it and so do I. — 3 years ago
They’ve solved Fiano! Who knew? Appassimento method applied to this grape is absolutely delicious. It starts with a honeydew kick in the teeth before reminding you this is still a bad ass acidic Italian beast. What a solid contribution to the wine world! — 6 years ago
Perfect location to try this wine. Absolutely enjoyed it with my mussel starters. — 8 years ago
