Is hard to imagine how anything could be much better from nose to lingering finish. But, I'll keep searching for the perfect dram. — 5 years ago

Gaja did not produce their Rennina or Sugarille in 2012 due to a change in their oak program, so all of that fruit went into their Pieve Santa Restituta.

A minimum of an hour open is needed to give it the room necessary to stretch out and reveal the depth of its complexity. Black cherry, rose petal, tobacco, leather, clay pot, walnut, citrus peel, and earth, with some secondary truffle and fig nuances that both elevate the wine and remind you that you’re drinking Gaja. Excellent. — 8 years ago

Took two days to open and reveal its layers; beautiful high toned florals of pot pourri, musk, poached strawberry, blue fruits and touches of anise. — 8 years ago
Really nice jammy bite, nice floral rose smell, really rich dark purple color, full alc is fairly hidden, a curious wetness, juicy tannins but not too sweet at all, light on the acid but it’s there, big fan. This stuff is versatile, so balanced, lots of raspberry — 8 years ago

Nosing and dipping my lips in the glass only. Served with a roasted lamb leg and beans. Superb pairing. Chalk, cherry, raspberry, pepper, bramble... this is superb and deep. The palate is acid driven, showing cherry and raspberry notes. It's very youthful and light in style. It goes very well with the lamb. — 6 months ago
