On this Thursday night before the start of the weekend before the 4th of July I have opened the 2012 Travaglini Estate Bottled Gattinara.
On the the nose there are very expressive notes of red fruit, cherry, strawberry, plum, raspberry, Rose, licorice, mint and baking spice.
On the palate I am getting continuation of the red fruit, cherry, raspberry, plum, anise, herbaceous, spice, leather, rose, clay pot and oak.
This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + gripping tannins that lead to a long enjoyable finish. Have an enjoyable weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Needs some time to open. Dark cherry and baking spices on the bose. Tart and dry in the beginning, but turns smooth and delightful after some time. Medium body and acidity. Holds up really well with food

Cherries that have smoked one too many cigarettes. Kind of short? Not very complex? Have I been spoiled? Definitely needs a food pairing but I opted for a book instead. 🤷🏻♀️ maybe not quite the same effect. (If you’ve read this - no plot deviation spoilers from the show adaption thanks 👀)

A very balanced, rounded wine. Nose is full of black berries and chocolate, accompanied by spices like cinnamon, clove, hits of licorice. Acidity is medium plus, tannins are round. Wine can be fully enjoyed now.

Hadn’t had a bottle of this in a while but always really liked it. Getting past funky shaped bottle this Nebbiolo is full bodied with sour cherries and spices.
