@chez maman à Carouge. with José and Mons. Marechal who chosed the wine. By the glass and a big suprise, wow! — 3 years ago
I had vintage 2016 (drank it in 2023) - it was well rounded, great taste of berries, easy to drink. — 4 years ago
Deep nose of dark berry fruits, dark cherry fruits and chunky earth and wet soil. Somewhat refined which is unusual for MDA. Palate is super concentrated and sleek. Good purity and concentration. Terrific refinement. Velvety tannins and superb finesse. Lovely tiny berry fruit intensity and length. Like if one of the polished traditional Rhone guys (Durand, Tunnel) made MDA. Lovely stuff and lots of upside. Gets more rustic and charming while retaining its sleek fruit. Stoney tannins. Very ripe. Terrific. — 5 years ago
I give this a rather high ratings for my standards, it really came through in terms of what I was hoping g to get from it. A quite minerally, stony bony dry finish, yet a nice bit of funkiness and a raw feeling yet well made. Quite light, had it with seafood, paired really well IMO. — 7 years ago
Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Mons $9 à la LCBO. Fruits rouges, goûteux, très lègèrement sucré. — 8 years ago
Another great surprise from Bulgaria! An excellent pinot noir, rich, thick, less elegant and more powerful. I like it! — 8 years ago
2018 vintage. This was still made under the CA ( Crédit Agricole) ownership. In 2019 the estate, together with La Tour de Mons, was sold to Nathalie Perrodo, who is doing a great job at Labégorce and Marquis d'Alesme. There seems to be historical evidence that the wines of (what was later called) Marsac Séguineau were considered fifth growth quality pre 1855, but it wasn't classified because of the very small production and the fragmentation of the vineyards. The Château was only constructed in 1886. Bordeaux is a fascinating region, not only for wine aficionados, but also for history lovers. In any case, this is already a delicious wine, exhibiting the famous Margaux elegance, without lacking power. Very good value too. I hope to find some recent vintages soon, as I expect the wines to progress under the new ownership. Abv. 14%. — 7 months ago
Sunlight des tropiques (like a famous Belgian song) brewed in the Mons area. Session IPA with strong ananas and tropical fruit hints. The label points a variety if hops: citra, mandarina, bavaria, chinook, colombus. Perfect. — 3 years ago
— 4 years ago

Very very good. — 7 years ago
History goes back to the 17th century, one of the oldest chateau’s in the appellation, dating back to the 1600’s, when it was built by the Marquis de mons de Dunes. Mostly Merlot with intense berry fruit aromas and hot pepper spice. On the palate blackberry and blueberry fruit, almost jammy with oaky spice notes. Lingering with tight tannins ending a bit hot with pepper character and mineral tones. Good but needs more time. — 8 years ago
Clean almost flinty nose. Grip and form palate — 2 years ago
A solid 9 from this one from Mons, Belgium. — 3 years ago
Black fruits (plum, blackcurrant), well-integrated oaky tertiary notes. Aromas of coffee, caramel, tar, tobacco, musk, humus. Beautiful aromatic range, and flexible.
Fruit noirs (prune, cassis), notes tertiaires boisées bien intégrées, avec des notes café, caramel, goudron, tabac, musk, humus. Belle gamme aromatique, et souple. — 5 years ago
This is ACTUALLY the Mountain Plains White Blend. First vintage for this 3 Portion blend of Petit Manseng/Vio/Chard. 18 mons on barrel - while the tastes is hugely obtuse right now, the mouthfeel is wonderful. I have 1 more bottle and think another 2 years in bottle will make it sing. Nice effort Matthieu. — 6 years ago
A serious wine that shows why Burgundians are still light years ahead of everyone else. — 8 years ago
An excellent blend from an excellent winery. Obviously the supervision of Michel Rolland payed off. Rich and fruity but than again well polished tanins and great overall balance make zhis wine exquisite. Sincerely recommend. — 8 years ago

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (47%), Merlot (46%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (2%). Dark ruby color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of ripe blue and black fruit, graphite, violets, light oak and crushed gravel. Flavors of black cherry/berry/currant fruit, blueberries, tobacco and savory herbs. Touch of spice on the medium-plus length savory finish. Medium bodied and softened tannins. Bright acidity and well balanced. — 3 days ago
