Molino A Vento

Barolo Nebbiolo 2018

A beautiful shock of garnet, this thin and clear Barolo is lovely, but a little more of a bite than I’d hope for this vintage. The aftertaste lingers nicely (with a light woody flavor), but doesn’t have as smooth of a finish as I’d prefer. It’s still a beautiful wine and love that it comes in a 375 ml bottle. — a day ago

Areio e Vento e Amor Evangelho Vineyard Red Blend 2019

Fine light drinking red with an assortment of heirloom varietals you would see in a Sandlands release. Down the middle table red style with good acid but lighter in alcohol and tannins. — 5 months ago

Molino Real

Mountain Blanco Moscatel de Alejandría 2018

Very floral aromas with a hint of citrus, light on the palate with citrus acidity, the floral comes through but is balanced by lots of saline minerality. Very nice, Mr. Rodriquez! — 2 years ago

Leradici Barbera d'Asti 2021

2021 vintage. QPR off the charts. $13.43 a bottle resto cost. Ridiculously good at that price. Medium body with spice, fruit and structure. Too inexpensive for me to exploit but perhaps someone else can? If I see this in the wild, pouncing on all fours. 04.09.25. — 19 days ago

Podere Molino della Suga

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

This Brunello shows its Sangiovese’s expression to a nice level, packed with cherry notes and flavors, the garnish color gives a nice clue how bright the acidity is on the back of your palate. Great vainilla and woody taste. Tannins are medium, dry enough to Pair with mushrooms dishes, including Risottos. — 5 months ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — 2 months ago

Il Molino di Grace

SoloSangiovese Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2020

Drinking beautifully now. Nose has macerated wild cherry, and savory minerality. Developing a secondary note of aged, well cared for leather. Rather full in the mouth. Deep fruit and a lengthy, minerally gravel-laced finish. Medium acids are kind of sneaky, coming on as the finish extends. Still some very soft tannin present. Lots of character for the money.

UPDATE: Night 2, nose is now showing a crushed rosemary leaf note

Just had one. Lovely. Guess I won’t be experiencing the crushed rosemary.
