Métisse Jumping Goat Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

Opened and decanted for 1 hour before tasting. Clean long cork that was soaked to the edge through.

Aromas of wild forest floor. As it opened, fruit began to emerge

This wine tasted delicious. I don’t even remember specific flavors. It was just very good and easy to drink while also having depth and structure to hold up to black pepper chicken thighs.

Hope my other bottles of this wine shine the same

Just amazing! Love all his wines. Had it with a lightly breaded pork chop and Shannon Salad at Frenchies. Moving out of Coral Gables — 3 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

A new release Vinified by the acclaimed Phillipe Melka Winemaker and Vinter from Napa Valley. This shows its potential to age, since a 2022 feels aggressive on the mouthfeel (even after decanting for 120mins), definitely isn’t ready. Needs time. However; was able to appreciate the leather and minty notes, and the cedar accent, together with tobacco and a touch of velvet. Very powerful. — 25 days ago

Métisse St. Émilion Merlot Cabernet Franc Blend 2014

67% Merlot, 33% cab franc, don’t know what the other 1% is? Really like this now that it has some age. I drank other bottles too early. — 3 years ago

CJ Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Nose of ripe blackberry. Ripe blackberry, plum, hints of pepper, green pepper, vanilla. Very nice mouthfeel, tannins softened yet powerful, well balanced acidity. Medium finish. Simple fruit forward Napa cab, not complex. Nevertheless, is a very nice ripe big fruit Napa cab. Pretty much PNP now. — 3 months ago

La Mekerra Knights Valley Cabernet Franc-Merlot Blend

51% CF, 49%ME. Enjoyed the wine & blend. For me, these wines are a bit rough when young but smooth out nicely with age. — 3 years ago

Hillside Blend Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2013

It's definitely time for a great Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Great nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead and earth.

Full bodied with medium acidity and elegant.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, earth, peppercorn and leather.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Merlot based blend from Napa Valley. Rich, yet elegant. Fruit forward with nice complexity.

This 8 year old Magnum is drinking very nicely now. The fact that it is from a great vintage doesn't hurt it either.

Delicious right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.

Excellent quality. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Thank you Barry for sharing this with me.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with delicious lamb chops.

Grapes are grown at 2,100 feet of elevation. A blend of 71% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French oak barrels (31% new) for 25 months. A small production of 579 cases. Made by Philippe Melka.

15.1% alcohol by volume.

94 points.
