Smoke, cherries, blackberries, meat. This is one substantial wine. Striking intensity. Delicious. And a little overwhelming.

Howell Mountain fruit and Oakville Bench fruit together, and a great tribute to the skill of Winemaker Philippe Melka that both AVAs shine in the finished wine.
The Howell Mountain quality especially comes through - intense bramble, loganberry, blackberry, cassis and violet. There are elegant tannins, with a laser beam of vanilla holding everything together. The oak is a bit forward at the moment but it should come together beautifully in a couple of years. A knockout
