Barbera d'Alba 2018

Barbers D’Alba region, northwestern italy. Chalky, limestone rich clay soils. Good aging wine. Smell: cherry, sweet spices. Taste: tart cherries, lil piney? Very acidic! Juicy! Leave in bottle for longer and it’ll be more mellow. — a month ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 1994

Still holding on after 25 years, and it loves air. Firm acid, ripe (though fading) fruit, iron mineral and fine espresso. A worthwhile experience, to be sure. — 16 days ago

Perrone Monte Bello Vineyard Merlot

This is a remarkable California Merlot, easily one of the finest I've had - and it's probably the best from the Santa Cruz Mountains region. Soft, smooth and balanced with gorgeous black & blue fruit. — a month ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

First impression: light Barolo, dry & light/med oak, opened quickly, red fruit, acidity med/high. LB got for me at neighborhood wine store. Really like this wine. Reminds me of robust Nebbiolo. — 2 months ago

Castilla y León Red Blend 2016

Produced by the Mauro winery in Castilla-León, a project of Mariano García, a winemaker known for being technical manager of Vega Sicilia for 30 years. A blend of Tempranillo with 5% Syrah and aged for 16 months in French oak. Ripe Berry fruits, powerful yet elegant, with spice & smoky notes on full, very tight, tannins. Lingering finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with mineral earthy tones, a joy to Sip!! Tasting great, has much more aging potential. Very Nice! — 3 months ago
