I love Mas de Daumas Gassac’s whites and know a lot of people who do. I also like their reds but know many people (some of the same) who do not. They find the Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Languedoc to be not quite right. On this bottle, I think I’ve identified something I like in the reds. The Cab Sauv has some of the same taste profile of better Chilean Cab Sauv that I grew up drinking as the son of Chileans (before they served the international / Parkerized palate). Anyway, a young bottle, but enjoyable with ribeye steaks, sautéed mushrooms and sautéed spinach. It represents a field blend of 12-20 different varietals, mostly historically French, but from all the major regions. 76% Cab Sauv,, 5% Tannat, 4% Merlot, 3% Pinot Noir, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Syrah, 2% Cab Franc, plus ~4% other grapes from Italy, Georgia, Spain and France (the technical sheet identifies the Camenere as Chilean, but it is originally from France). — 3 days ago

Our friend described this as forest floor. Did have wet forest smells along with mushrooms, dry blackberry and raspberry with a slight musty funk. Felt like this bottle was just a touch sweeter (not dessert wine sweet just that the dark fruit had fermented a bit more). Good wine. — 5 years ago
Another excellent vintage of this Sardinian clone of Grenache. Aromas of bright red fruit, dried violets, smoky oak and sweet baking spices. Flavors of juicy red cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, cola, tobacco and those baking spices. Long and lingering finish. Crisp, vibrant and refreshing acidity. Full bodied and surprisingly smooth tannins. 14% ABV, but it is difficult to notice. Outstanding value! Thanks for the taste, Kase. — 3 months ago
Light yellow color. Aromas of green orchard fruit, white flowers and citrus. Flavors of peaches, nectarines, tropical fruit, green apples, lemon curd, raw almonds and a very pleasing saline note. Beautiful note of minerality on the long finish. Medium-minus body (but still a bit of heft) and refreshing acidity. Lovely silky texture for such a crisp wine. Outstanding QPR. Thanks for sharing, Kase! — 3 months ago
Loved this! Bursting with fruit with plenty of biodynamic qualities - funky, but easy, super drinkable — 4 months ago
Fresh and vibrant with red fruit aromas alongside spicy, earthy undertones and hints of mineral. Lively medium-bodied yet juicy, refined and silky tannins, good acidity, and a refreshing, mineral finish. — 6 months ago

Remarkably youthful for a 16 year old. Leather, cracked stone, spice still-bright cherry. How is that possible? Light but deep. Fantastic transparency and acids. — 11 days ago
