Incredible briskness and freshness on the nose of seashell, lily and golden russet apple with a butterscotch undercurrent. Palate is zippy with amazing density. The acid is almost astringent at first, like the juice of the pineapple core, but mellows out as this reveals other flavors like yellow plum, apple, kiwi and fondant braced by stony minerals. There’s a subtly sweetness on the long finish that makes this approachable now, but it really needs much more time.
This wine is endless. I mean from 9.4 to 9.6 by night 5. — a month ago
Jasmine and lily flower nose. Peach and liquorice on the palate and a lovely mineral spice. Round and just a tiny bit sweet, but balanced. Wild exciting texture that’s lightly oily, and almost sticks to your teeth.
Day three and this is really singing. Orange blossom scents and the most vivid ripe mango. The experience of eating very sophisticated marshmallow fluff.
I think this will probably be at peak in 2-3 years. — 2 months ago
Blend of 37% Roussanne, 35% Grenache Blanc and 28% Viognier, pale to medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, blossoms and floral spice. On the palate flavors of apple, melon and citrus zest with notes of honeysuckle and perfume spice. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, good balance with acidity ending with fruit, floral notes and wet mineral character, very nice! — 5 months ago
It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Here is a delicious one from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates, eucalyptus, tobacco, red chili pepper and peppercorn.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity with long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, sweet cherries, spices, vanilla, cedar, licorice, raisins, leather, black pepper, pencil lead and light earth.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.
Drinking very nicely now, although still young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Tannins show up after 2 hours in the decanter.
I had the 2015 vintage last year, and this one is even better.
A great wine to have all by itself, but will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak too.
I love these Napa Bordeaux blends. Fabulous wine.
A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 27 months in (50% new) French Oak barrels. A small production of only 2,400 bottles.
14.4% alcohol by volume.

Aromatic nose of peach, Asian pear, lemon, hint of lily, and subtle lightly roasted nuts. Bright yet round acidity. Seamless oak integration. Juicy long finish.
Resonance is the first project of Louis Jadot outside of Burgundy. And this bottling is a great effort. — 5 months ago
Vijariego negro. Complex nose with notes of bright red fruit (strawberry, cherry), minerals (tar, hints of sulphur). Some spices and floral notes (violets, lavender, lily). Medium-bodied, spicy. Fresh, juicy on the palate. Juicy red fruit. Good acidity. Very elegant wine — a month ago
In fair Verona where our story unfolds. Cool style to that label. Classic modern art. Light red to dark pink in the glass. And you can see to the bottom of the pool. Smells of leaves 🍁 in the fall, fruit in the summer, Easter lily or hyacinth in the spring, and pies in the oven in winter. Flavors are stunning. Citrus (blood orange, cherries, plums), fresh herbs (tarragon, basil, marjoram), bitters or funky Euro liquors, and tobacco leaf/tomato plants. Does that magic trick of looking light and packing in a ton of intriguing and explosive aromas and flavors. This is a wondrous and wowzers! wine. Glad I got to experience it.
(And I guess it’s relatively cheap. Double wowzers!). — a month ago
Very fragrant with early flowers: lily, honeysuckle, in spring rain. But then something more exotic; jasmine like. On the palate this floats and stings. Transparent, filled with light.
After a few days as the acid rounds, it picks up a beautiful sweetness on the finish. Bodes well. — 5 months ago
