Madeira like with notes of caramel, hazelnuts, orange peel. — 6 years ago
A fan of Morellino di Scansano, nice Sangiovese from Tuscany, loved the cherry and cranberry notes and taste with a slightly hint of tangerine, which makes this red a more acidic that the usual northern Tuscany ones. It is warm, approachable and super easy to drink. It’s already in its prime time. Lovely. — 3 months ago

Gran Selezione - 15’ - small hectares - Greve - what’s not to love! — 6 years ago
Prunes and underbrush, old wood trunks, sageys, lush fruit, supple palate and well integrated tannins, from 40 year old vines a really nice example from Greve in Chianti. — 6 years ago

This is nice. Blind I would have guessed Chianti Classico. The nose shows cherry, oak, tar, autumn leaves, black tea, coffee beans, a bit of meat juice. The palate is juicy and silky, with a nice cherry note shining through and through, some oaky touches, some meaty, savoury notes too along with that black tea thing. There is width, there is some matter too, and the silky mouthfeel turns into a massive tannic wall in the rear, that disrupts completely the entire mouthfeel. The finish is long, cherry and meat juice forward, sliding upon a nice, drying tannic layer for a good while. A tiny bitter note shows up in the very end. This is serious stuff, pretty classical in style when I compare it with chianti classico examples that I have tasted. I like that ! — 10 days ago
