Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Just beginning to hit it’s stride! Still a little strong on the front. Dense fruit with a lot of oak. As the evening progressed it opened up nicely with plum, blackberry and cherry. Oak smoothed out to earthy undertones, smoother on the end. Will develop nicely over the next few years. — 6 days ago

Chateau Buena Vista Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

A surprise stunner. Incredible depth of complexity that shows itself as this deep colored rich but not overbearing Pinot noir breathes.
It’s my pick for this week’s well valued - with just enough intrigue, complexity, and fancy — to keep it in your thoughts winner.

Domaine Le Roc

La Folle Noire d'Ambat Fronton Negrette 2018

There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 6 years ago

Cheval des Andes

Mendoza Malbec Blend 2014

Cheval des Andes tasting with their technical manager who is also an assistant winemaker. Tasted ‘05, ‘07, ‘14 and ‘15. Very cool story behind this winery (and its affiliation with Chateau Cheval Blanc).

This contained the largest percentage of Malbec they’ve ever used at 83%, rounded out by petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Decidedly darker and more dense on the mid palate than the ‘15. The texture was more plush and this seems to be open for business now...not sure it has the structure to hold as long as the ‘15. More plum, added black currant and licorice.

Chateau Montelena

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: Medium-plus body. Bold flavors. Fine tannins. Dark fruits. Blackberry. Cherry. Plum. Vanilla. Oak. Smooth, soft finish. For me, this is a must-try iconic Napa Valley winery and an almost perfect example of a Napa Cab. Such great depth & balance for such a young wine. Paired this beauty with a grilled ribeye steak & all the fixings. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

Le Désir Sonoma County Cabernet Franc Blend 2003

Beautifully aged, direct from the winery. Still fresh and vibrant, decades of potential maturing ahead. Aromas of ripe plum, red currant, raspberry and cherries. Even crunchy cranberry. Dried roses and savory herbs, leather and earth. Verite is one of my absolute favorite domestic Cabernet producers! — 6 years ago

Still youthful and vibrant; layers of deep juicy plum, bright red currant, cranberry and cherry high tones. While starting to show more tertiary, savory flavors; dried herbs, leather, cigar tobacco and earth, there is still decades of cellar potential. Pierre is truly a Cab Franc wizard and a blend master.
