This 2014 vintage drank in August 2020 peaked after 45 - 80mins decant. On the nose and taste are various intensities of dusty cherry, slight plum, balsamic, violet, leather, licorice, and shoe polish (in a good way). Some savory, herbal notes appear after 2-3 hrs decant, while the fruit and acid fades. Not an outstanding brunello, but a nice quality for price. — 4 years ago
This starts getting good after 2+ hours of decant. An equal mix of savory and fruit. Dark cherry, herbs, sweet tobacco, leather, and a bit of flowers. — 5 years ago

Layered, balanced. Stone fruit, floral, some spice and vanilla. A pleasing acidity balances the oak. I really appreciated this. — 4 years ago

First experience with a Tobin James Zin. Whoa. Nose is addicting - licorice, graphite, dark fruit. Palette is huge, jammy dark blue fruits - blackberry, blueberry, black plum. Together with some rock/mineral and oaked notes - vanilla, clove, cardamom. Med+ acidity and tannins. — 4 years ago

Nothing complex. Just delicious WA state merlot and cab. It is well made. — 5 years ago
