Medium lemon yellow . Touch smoky and honied on the nose , lemon tart , baked apple , ripe pear , and a steely element . Quite rich on the palate but with vibrant acidity and good backbone . Quite intense and with good length , well balanced alcohol . Lemon , pear , baked apple , honeysuckle with a creamy texture but saline , chalky finish . Callie gave me this bottle, which Joris buys in bulk. Didn’t know what to expect from South Africa. Holy moly! Lush, savory, medium bodied, well-integrated tannins. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Wish I could find more of this. — 4 years ago
