Beautiful Naked Wines bottle, favourite one we have had from them — 5 years ago
A great, yet kinda simple CB. My kind w the tropix but also wool n almost waxiness. Demands a little air but saved us from a corked Joly (1996). — 6 years ago
Very nice elegant Jura. Light but still has a defined body and great acidity. Long finish. Tart cherries, strawberries, maybe cinnamon. At $38, not a value. But still very nice. — 6 years ago

I tend to love the weird wines made from masters. Think Paolo Bea Arboreous or Joly Coulee de Serrant or LDH Rose.
Everything about this is artificially flavored candy. It looks like cherry lollipop and smells like red Kool-Aid and Robitusson. Tastes like watermelon Jolly Rancher.
Powerful and viscous as hell, even hot. I know these can age forever and I’d love to see an older bottle. Tons of fun. — 7 years ago
Bolder than I’d like in a Pinot. Not floral. Punches through the flavours. Strong. Good fruit. Pretty colour. — 2 months ago
Easy to drink - dry after taste - sweet start - evening wine — a year ago

Elegant, delicate and vibrant red fruit on the nose. Beautiful smoke and spice from oak. Amazing acidity and balance. Whoa I loved this wine.

Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.
Classic and down the middle. Almost Viognier like with the floral aromatics and lack of acidity. Cinnamon, baking spices, lemon bar, and sea shell notes on the palate. Bordering on steely. — 7 years ago
I did not know that it existed and I had way too much wine to order another bottle but could not resist trying it. It is very complex, extremely aromatic, starts out as a dry wine and gradually develops in the glass, very smooth but with very nice acidity true to a chenin. Wonderful. — 4 months ago
This wine is in a different orbit. I can safely say I have never tasted a wine this smooth, this balanced, this subtle… this uplifting. Fine polished tannins take this juicy, vibrant fruit infused with black olive and lifted with earthy notes from the stones of the Rocks District to a finish that stays with you for minutes and can only make you think of one thing: I want another sip…. but I I want this wine to last for ever ….good problem to have 😁. Like Nicholas Joly said. A good wine makes you feel something deeply inside and you can ‘feel’ the wine. This one sure did. — 10 months ago
Popped and poured, consumed over several hours. Initially served chilled and then allowed to come up to room temperature. It should be noted that this was lovely from the first pour but improved with air and as it warmed. The 2009 Domaine du Collier Saumer Blanc pours a bright golden color, with no signs of sediment or gas. High viscosity. On the nose, this is extremely floral…like being in a grove of magnolia trees in full bloom. The flowers are accompanied by bright citrus fruit, lanolin, alfalfa and honey. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. The notes from the bouquet are confirmed and accompanied by the most lovely, almost oily texture. This is oh so woolly! The finish goes long. This is my first experience with Antoine’s wine and I’m now absolutely smitten (thanks Tim). A simply gorgeous example of Chenin from a warm vintage and an alternative to Joly if you crave a natural touch…but not too natural. This is a banger now and will continue to be so for some time. Wow.

17.5. Savennieres doesn’t get much better. This has more acidity than the usual Baumard or Joly, but lots of fruit, v long. Could hold 5+ years. — 7 years ago
Started off with a very strong nose of apple cider and not much taste. After an hour and change, had a lovely nose of baked apple and spices, and tasted sweeter. Reminded me of a Joly Savennieres — 7 years ago

Let’s talk about SAVENNIÈRES!!!! 📣📣
Savennières is a small but mighty appellation (AOC), located in the Anjou subregion of the Loire Valley, France and specializes in still, dry Chenin Blanc wines. 🇫🇷
Its growing environment is apt for producing concentrated and ripe fruit, translating into wines with strong aromatic and flavor intensity and higher alcohol potential. 💪🏻 It’s no wonder this appellation is all about Chenin Blanc; Chenin has naturally higher acidity, which can help lend structure and balance to the final wine. ⚖️ 🙌🏻🙌🏻
The combination of these factors sets the stage for winemakers to produce some truly powerful and age-worthy whites that can improve, gaining complexity (and softening) with some time in the bottle. 🤔 🧐 Savennières has a reputation as a more serious, cerebral wine that is meant to be savored, especially when paired with a creamy seafood dish like Coquilles Saint-Jacques! 😋 🥘
🌿This particular wine is the Nicolas Joly, Clos de la Coulée de Serrant AOC (2019) hailing from the prized enclave of Coulée de Serrant AOC (within Savennières AOC), owned exclusively and farmed biodynamically by the renowned Nicolas Joly.
This wine is surely capable of aging for decades but tonight we opted to sip this golden wine during the golden hour with unseasonably warm, summery temperatures here in Minnesota.
🐝 🍯 In the glass, we found concentrated, layered notes of honey, beeswax, yellow apple, ripe apricot, quince, chamomile, dried & crushed white rose petals, toasted almond, hazelnut, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, acrylic paint, wet stones, salted caramel, & butterscotch.
It has texture (and finish) for days and a coating mouthfeel.
🫣 Its alcohol by volume clocks in at 15%!!! But it’s well-integrated and balanced by a crisp acidity and robust aromas and flavors. 👌 — 16 hours ago
