Cornas Syrah 2018

Expresses the vintage. Challenging I’m sure but felt that it’s open-knit character and ripeness make for an early drinking style. Can sense some dessiccation on the palate, there’s not the usual amount of freshness, but still certainly Cornas in the new wave style. Blackberry/loganberry compote, baked plum, slight prune note, crushed stone, truffle, earth, touch of stems. Was expecting tannins to be out of whack but surprisingly in line. — a month ago

Earlier reviews said it all. Tasty but a bit sweet. Not our favorite variety but a good expression. — 5 months ago

Spitzer Point Smaragd Grüner Veltliner

Very nice and rather smooth Grüner Veltliner. 9 points because I line it, not because it is a typical wine. On the contrary, the wine is not „peppery“ at all and only shows comparably low acidity. 14 % alcohol are also rather uncommon and perhaps the reason I really enjoyed drinking the 2020 vintage. — a month ago
