Medium lemon colour. On the nose this is quite mineral and expressive at first , taught lemon peel and some oyster shell , touch herbal , orange . With time this becomes more fruit driven , with lots of ripe citrus . Quite rich and ample on the palate with lemon richness and some grapefruit , with a touch of butter , just a touch of chalk dust to balance , creamy mouthfeel. Balanced but not particularly fresh acidity . Good length , quite rounded and generous in style . Still quite young but drinking well from now and over the next 5 or so years . — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed alongside Texas BBQ on the plane home. The 2005 “Hommage a Jacques Perrin” pours a deep purple with a ruby rim; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with mostly dark fruits: mixed brambles, black cherry, animale, star anise and black pepper, garrigue and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This continues to be ever so dense but paired admirably with the BBQ. Drink now through 2055. — a month ago

Few bubbles in the glass. Bruised golden apple, golden pear, slightly reductive / sherry-like. Reminded me a lot of the Peter Lauer 1987 Riesling sekt, but with fewer bubbles. An interesting but not crowd-pleasing Champagne. @ Persona, Stockholm — a day ago
