Ile de Beauté Sciacarello 2017

Alder Yarrow

Y’all probably know by now that I’m a fan of rosé. Anytime, anywhere, with any food. It’s one of the most satisfying wines around. But I’m kind of picky when it comes to rosé. It’s gotta have energy. It’s gotta have lift. It’s gotta have ACIDITY. While I might catch some flak for this, I’m just gonna say it. There is no surer bet in the world of pink wine than Corsican rosé. I’ve never met one I didn’t like. Hell, I’ve never met one where I didn’t immediately want a second bottle. So whenever it crosses my path, I grab it. By the glass, by the bottle, by the case. This little beauty (from the Isle of Beauty, no less) was made by Eric Poli, and comes from organically farmed (uncertified) vines on the east side of the island near Eric’s hometown. Made from Sciaccarellu, an indigenous red to the island that makes just stunningly bright rosés. Citrus skin, strawberry, dried flowers and grapefruit are layered over wet stone minerality that is just gorgeous. — 6 months ago

Another Acker buy. AA5! Light rose color with intriguing nose of white fruits and flowers mixed with stones. Hints of herbs. Dry and balanced on palate with good finish. Fresh even it’s age. First taste of Corsica. — 2 years ago

Clos Alivu Patrimonio Nielluccio Rosé 2020

Beautiful, bright rosé with notes of strawberry, lemon, fresh thyme, white flowers, and yogurt. High, zippy, citrusy acidity with a touch of bitterness on the finish.

My kinda rosé. Perfect stuff on a warm day and great with food.
