2011 is absolutely excellent. Hommage to Howard. — 3 years ago
This is the terrior label. I’d not seen it before but it is a ripping wine. Well worth getting at 2 for 40 at VC. — 5 years ago
Opening salvo in a night of delicious dinner courtesy of Howard Street Wine Merchants and Chef @Paul Kulik , the energy behind Le Bouillon. Our dinner guest was our friend John Paine from Rosenthal. Tonight was an evening of Burgundy, which outside of Chablis and Beaujolais, has always been a challenge for me. This was a delicious opener, if not an outlier. Regardless, a really tasty wine with bright red fruits of notable freshness. Not super complex but unique and always fun to drink Sancerre Rouge. — 7 years ago

This will take a bunch of you by surprise but this is my absolute first bottle of 2012 edge Hill Bacigaluppi that did not literally blow my mind! I consider this one of the top five Chardonnays that I have ever had from Napa and I’ve had a lot of Chardonnays from Napa! It was not Corked but definitely fell 100% flat tonight. No depth, no structure simply fruit. I had friends at the house and was trying to impress them But literally threw this bottle down the drain and open to something else. Oh well, shit happens as they say! @David L @Shawn R @Joe Lucca @Mike R @Ron R @Howard Greenfield @Shay A — 8 years ago

Merlot monday. Solid 30 dollar wine from napa.
Preparing my wine contribution for saturday's festivities. Showing some friends around livermore wineries so picked out some wines to show the terroir. These are my top 5 livermore wineries. And a couple napa wines for dinner as well.

This really benefits from decanting. I enjoyed it's over two nights and I enjoyed it better on the 2nd — 5 months ago
BTG at Howard Street Wine Merchants. The 2017 Prapò pours a deep ruby with a garnet rim and a transparent, but nearly opaque core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining on the tears. On the nose, this was initially funky stewed cherries, Twizzlers and tar. The fruit profile seemed to freshen up with some air and along came a dozen dark red roses, leather, dried herbs, orange zest, and some asian spices. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Sometimes I wonder how certain 2017 Barolo’s will age, primarily due to the heat and solar nature of the vintage. This is one that has me scratching my head. Perhaps it’s the healthy southern exposure of the Prapò MGA? It’s drinking well now on the pop and pour but I’m curious how it will show towards the end of the decade? I say drink’em. — 2 years ago
Aromatics of Talc, white flowers a little peach and grapefruit. On the palate citrus and peach with diminishing acid. Just a fabulous mature Riesling with just a hint of petro chemical developing in the form of paraffin. It stamps the Great Southern in Western Australia as one of the premium Riesling districts in Australia. One of the 1001 wines and deserves to be. From magnum. Happy bday @Howard Greenfield @holligreenfield Awesome party 🎉🍷 — 7 years ago
It held beautifully
I personally thought was 15 years younger
Lots of scents
From a dark fruit like blueberry and plum to spices like cloves and cinnamon; leather and cigars box too.
Looking for weaknesses I’d say it doesn’t have a long finish, not extremely intense on the nose( is that really a fault?) and maybe it is a bit too much on the oaky side, but altogether very enjoyable wine. Colour was misleading, still ruby and garnet, just a slight glimpse of orange on the edge. Thanks @Mauro Gabriele — 8 years ago
A phenomenal prelude to a bad ass evening! The only thing that could’ve made it better is if all of you guys were here! 😂 @David L @Shawn R @Mike R @Joe Lucca @Ron R @Shay A @Howard Greenfield — 8 years ago

A truly amazing tasting hosted by non other than Rob Greer!!! We loved hearing the history of his vineyard and his transition from making what he called “Fun” wine to making “Fine Wine”. If he was shooting for simply fine he completely missed his Mark. This one was absolutely unequivocably Superb!!!!! Wow., his 14 was balanced., balanced, balanced. Seamless integration and a touch of oak which doesn’t over power the wine. This was Badass in a Glass for sure!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Greer wines by Howard Greenfield a few years ago. I’ve never looked back and say YES SIR to my entire allocation on a yearly basis. If you haven’t had Greer YOU MUST contact Rob and pick up a 3 pack. Believe me.,you won’t regret it!!! It will do you proud when you pour it for your family and friends🙌🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙌. @Howard Greenfield @Jason Chang @Kirk Alexander @Dov Eidelman @Tania Rodriguez — 8 years ago

Varietal characteristics. Dark fruits, some spice and pepper. Strong tannins, but still smooth. Drinking well now but could happily sit another few years. — 8 years ago

Flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a nice fruitiness. But the finish is quite acidic. Good but not worth $50. — 17 days ago
