Zoom tasting with a 2014 Napa theme with the WNH @Shay A @Mike R @Eric LaMasters @Ron R @David L @Shawn R @Carl Fischer @Joe Lucca...on 3/22...this event was non stop laughs and went a good 3 hours. Such good times. The Greer was drinking phenomenally in its youth. Gripping tannins give way to an ethereal core of black cherry, cedar and dark chocolate. It’s as close to Scarecrow in profile as any wine I’ve had. This will only get better.

This is drinking really well right now. Plush, voluptuous tannins give a lovely mouth feel. Blackberry, rosemary, and lavender notes accented with subtle baking spices and a hint of cocoa on the finish.

A truly amazing tasting hosted by non other than Rob Greer!!! We loved hearing the history of his vineyard and his transition from making what he called “Fun” wine to making “Fine Wine”. If he was shooting for simply fine he completely missed his Mark. This one was absolutely unequivocably Superb!!!!! Wow., his 14 was balanced., balanced, balanced. Seamless integration and a touch of oak which doesn’t over power the wine. This was Badass in a Glass for sure!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Greer wines by Howard Greenfield a few years ago. I’ve never looked back and say YES SIR to my entire allocation on a yearly basis. If you haven’t had Greer YOU MUST contact Rob and pick up a 3 pack. Believe me.,you won’t regret it!!! Slow O for 6 hr prior to drinking. This really great. Seems perfectly proportioned to my tastes. Not too sweet. Great frame. Not hot. Seems a bit more open than previous Greer bottlings I have had. Likely from the blend of the two clones previously split for the Pott Arsenal and Greer, but maybe vintage, too. Whatever the case, I like it.
