Hms Rattlesnake

Savage Grace

Copeland Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2019

Purple red, very good clarity, medium pigment extraction. Cherry, raspberry aromas with some barrel wood. On initial pour, cola, black pepper and sour plum. Soft mouthfeel but slightly bitter finish. Needs time to open. After two hours, flavors resolve into tart plum and some cola with slight pomegranate finish, mild skin astringency, good balance, almost no bitterness. A different take from previous vintages but solid rendition of the variety. — 4 months ago

Dark purple, tobacco on nose, full bodied, soft. Plums, blackberries, and pepper on palate. Another terrific Turley Zin! — 5 years ago

Rattlesnake Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

Concerned at first with the stewed fruits nose but it blew off within 30 minutes. My first Rattlesnake! Very enjoyable — 5 months ago

Barnett Vineyards

Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Dark purple color. Nose is not as perfumed as the Cyrus Ryan or Rattlesnake but nicely fragrant with notes of currants and menthol. While 12 years on, it is quite balanced for a Spring Mountain wine. — 2 years ago

Lovely and aging well. Very smooth and bright with cherry notes but not overly so. Earthly and interesting but still light. — 4 years ago

Mount Peak Winery

Rattlesnake Zinfandel 2016

Primarily Zinfandel with a bit of Petite Sirah (10%) blended in. Intense dark ruby/purple color. The aromas and flavors of black cherry/raspberry, blueberry, rose petals, black licorice, fresh herbs and pepper spice are equally as intense. Noticeable vanilla and pleasant earthiness on the long and lingering finish. Rich, complex, juicy and powerful (16% Alcohol) but nicely balanced. Quite memorable. — 7 months ago
