Everybody seems to have glowing opinions of this, but mine was just a good wine and all the complexity in depth that I’m hearing about here I just didn’t get. A very good balance of strong flavors drank it across three days, dark pepper, and tobacco notes and ripe fruit and I will say without any overwhelming attendance. The structure was just incredible. Purple, dense, high pigment extraction. Black currant and tobacco on nose, black plum and blackberry in mouth. Medium skin astringency, tart and puckery but fruit forward. Light alcohol. Love this style of Malbec, highly drinkable. Worth decanting but I lack the patience and just dig in. — 7 months ago

Dark purple color. Nose is not as perfumed as the Cyrus Ryan or Rattlesnake but nicely fragrant with notes of currants and menthol. While 12 years on, it is quite balanced for a Spring Mountain wine. — 4 years ago
