Again its Castello di Amorosa 2013 Sangiovese. Again an almost perfect score. I do hate rating wines but the pros liked Joel Gott better than this... who are these pros???? And pros at what? NOT WINE. Tis is a big bold Sangiovese that will knock your socks off! Im ordering a case right now! — 24 days ago
This is Anderson’s Conn Valley 2015 Right Bank. Not the cab, but a blend of cab franc 57% and merlot 43%. The bouquet is very pleasant with notes of lavendar and a forest with moss in the trees and wild mushrooms on the ground. I am serious. The initial palate is a tad bit young as there is a sour blackberry and boysenberry fruit. The sourness starts to dissipate quickly into a light oaky finish. There is not much in the middle. Finish is dry with no sour left overs and a thirst for more. Give it two more years and this will it be ready to serve! Decant for one hour. — a month ago
2014 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon is AMAZING!!!! Blueberry cobbler in a field of lavender! The initial palate is so complex, Blackberry boysenberry cinnamon pepper oak tobacco volcanic soil wow. The mid-palate comes late with a nice zing. The finish follows up with a very dry palette screaming almonds pecans and cigars...
I need more now!!!!!!!!!!!!! — a month ago
2015 Turnbull cab! There is a wonderful bouquet of blueberry and raspberry jam. The initial palate is sharp boysenberry and not quite ripe blackberries. There is a sour beginning to it. The mid palate brings on the butter and dirt. A rich soil if I had to guess what dirt tastes like. It has a sharp mineral component to it. The finish is dry. No sour ending. That is only on the beginning. A very sharp and sour but wonderful wine. — 2 months ago
I have to admit, I did not expect this from Duckhorn vineyards. Wow. This is as good as any 100 dollar cab /merlot blend Ive ever had. 2015—- very young. Yet the over all quality is so smooth. The nose on this beauty is apple plum pie - yes that is a real pie- the initial palate is so silky smooth milk chocolate and ripe dark fruits. The mid palate delivers a wonder mild spice with no zing. It has a nice hint of cranberry as well. The the finish is thick and dry. Leaving an earthiness behind. Man, Ill probably drink the entire bottle by myself in an hours time. — 2 months ago
This is Silver Oak 2013 Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. Bouquet is fruity and sweet Like blackberry cobbler made by your grandmother who was about to walk out the door to go to church wearing bad perfume. The initial palate is
dark blackberry and boysenberry fruits and there all of the sudden comes the sour patch candy. The finish comes and goes quick with a tart pucker of the tongue. For the price I will never buy this again. For the experience, well, 8.7 maybe as high as I can go. This was after decanting and cleansing my mouth with dark chocolate followed by a bottle of water after the first sip which was not decanted. — a month ago
Rodney Strong might be on the way back up. This is their Alexander’s Crown 2013, cabernet sauvignon . I picked it up for 60 bucks. Retail is usually 80. I would not pay that for it, but for 60 its not bad. Honig for 40 is better. Thwre is oak and spice and everything nice. It is dry and mouth watering for more!!! — a month ago
