OUTSTANDING CABERNET ! 2015 Stags Leap - The Leap! Blackberry and raspberry followed by chocolate and oak with a graphite finish which is moderately dry. Oh - then comes the buttery long finish. Who could ask for anything more in a cab? At 80 dollars a bottle this is a date wine for sure! Tonight I am my own date!! — 5 days ago
Mike (Miljeenko) Grgich is the guy who put California on the map! It was his Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 1973 that won the 1976 Paris tasting. This is his select varietal from several non disclosed vineyard sites. This amazing cabernet starts with dark currant, blackberry, and a splash of boysenberry. Then comes the thirst quenching chocolate and buttered bread. The finish is so so so buttery smooth and leave a small amount of oak and spice behind. There is a small tart aftertast that just makes you want to grab a glass of water and take another sip!!!!!!! — 20 days ago
Juggernaut 2016 Cab. A hell of a lot better than BOHEME! But not up to my standard. I can drink this though. What can I say about this wine? Well, it is a good wine for giving to a friend of a friend! Blueberry beginning with a tart mid palate. Another tart cab.... finish is dry. That’s about all I can taste. Maybe a little bit of earth tone to it definitely some graphite! Not my style! NEXT!!!!!!! Okay I decanted it for an hour and now its pretty darn good. No graphite! Lots of buttery finish! Spice on the mid palate. My rating is now 9.6. Buy this again and decant! What a difference from fresh out of the bottle. And its young!!!! WTH? — a month ago
For a California Pinot Noir, I like this. This is the first Cali’ pinot I can say that about. All of those who have read my reviews know I prefer Oregon Pinots. You can really smell the cherry on the bouquet. The initial palate opens the canvas to colors and flavors of cherry, Red licorice, and boysenberry. The middle of this presentation is full on spice!!! The finish is mildly dry and leaves absolutely no aftertaste! No sourness, no tartness, only a desire for another taste! — 11 days ago
Again under rated by the professionals. Chronic Cellars SOFA KING BUENO 2017 from Passo Robles is AMAZING!!!!! A blend of syrah, grenache, petite sirah, tannat, and Mourvedre. This is almost like an Organ Pinot noir except better!!!!! Its not overly complex, but so easy to drink with no sourness nor bitterness. Lots of cranberry and blackberry up front. There is also cherry!!! The finish leaves a lingering semi dry oaky dark chocolate and buttery finish!!!!!!! So YUMMY... As they say at Chronic Cellars, “Wishes in one hand. Chronic in the other.” — 21 days ago
BV Georges De Latour, private reserve, cabernet sauvignon, 2013. The bouquet is slightly perfume like with violets and lavendar. The initial palate is dark ripe berries and chocolate. The mid palate is full of leather and oak. My fav!!!! The finish is dry and buttery. A great wine. However, DECANT !!!!! — 12 days ago
