Still quite inky with just a little lightening at the edges. Starts a little tart and astringent but then presents cassis, plum, chocolate and black tea. Finish is quite long with a hint of bell pepper and lingering tannins. — 4 years ago

Priavino Dolcetto d'Alba 2016
Perfumed nose of rose petals and fresh cranberries. A bit rounder than most Dolcetto wines with red fruit offset by typical dusty notes. Slightly tannic and herbaceous on the finish (but in a good way). About as good as Dolcetto gets. — 4 years ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2012
Good but certainly not great Brunello. The elements are all there but it just misses the mark with a thin mid-palate. Finished nicely with lots of black tea notes and tannins. Wish it had a bit more fruit to balance out the tannins. — 5 years ago
