Definitely not white wine. Savory and structured Roditis with skin contact. Bergamot, quince, dried orange peel, tomato vine, cashews, hazelnuts, tannin. Organic. Dare I say this is a “classic” orange wine? Pair this with spanakopita when you’re feeling funky. — 4 years ago

Sharp, mealy bouquet. A little off aromatic for the typical Moschofilero. Although, strong scent of pineapple cores.

Organic, no additives, and the oldest importer of the varietal to the states. Super pineappley, bracing acidity, feels very old world authentic. Like I’m in Greece and this is the one they would serve at the table overlooking the teal expanse of ocean.

Slight licorice that balances out the sweetness.

A 2012 out of a magnum and decanted. Nice dark red colour and an enticing brambly plum bouquet that was echoed on the palate. Very pleasant with balanced acidity that worked well with the homemade gourmet pizza it accompanied. Dark opaque ruby in appearance. Bold bouquet of intense sage, spearmint, and pine bark. Dried plum, herbs, and green peppercorns on the palate. Medium plus bodied, dry. Alcohol medium plus. Tannins are soft. This Coonawarra Cab is unique, quite the departure from the over-oaked, fruit dominant Cali experience. With the long finish, I'm going to give this a nod up to 94 points. This pairs perfectly with hard cheeses.

1hr+ decant. Wine really changed through the course of the night. Went from floral to port to tannic. Started out nice then evolved to complex then to strange and then went downhill. I’d drink soon and be careful of decanting too long. I was at 94 and then dropped to 91, so 92.5 and rounding up :) — 5 years ago
