First thing I noticed, oddly, is that it created a airy, clearing sensation through my sinuses. It also lingers on the tongue, nettles, white mushroom, fern compost. Drinking it, I get baked red fruit (not jammy), sulfites, and maybe bay leaf. Plan to pet a Bracco Italiano (one of the oldest pointing dog breeds) while drinking. — 2 years ago
Smooth with hints of cranberry, Peruvian chocolate, and stone fruit for a well rounded balance. It’s like stepping on smooth stones of a Japanese bathhouse that massage your feet into tranquility. Pair with pets for a beautiful mixed breed dog from a rescue that is just happy to be with you. — 4 years ago
The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is light in body but dense in concentration because of low yields. It's almost silvery in color and restrained due to hand-picking, leading to pure grapefruit, passion fruit and nectarine, all delivered with focus and punch. The finish is long, precise and sinewy. $23.00 (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, July 2024) — 4 months ago
Dark bright deep purple. Cassis, saddle leather, touch of olive, dark ripe black fruit (plum, cherry, berry). Nice balance with noticeable acidity and just a touch of soft round tannin. I like the cab.franc/Merlot weight much better than Cabernet Sauvignon, Very good companion for frigid Chicsgo night with filets, double stuffed bakers, and balsamic sautéed zucchini. — 3 years ago
Nice, ripe, modern delicious Barolo. Dang. This one has me leaning from the traditional. This wine is ready from cork pop, but was much better after 2 hrs of bottle decanting and probably has another 7 years left. Nose of herbs, soil, mushroom, cola, funeral flowers. Entry of flowers, raspberry cola, nice acidity and just a hair departed from full bodied. Complex. Beautiful wine. Finishes with some astringency and youthful oak tannin so this one has a while left. Tobacco, herb, soil. Dang. If you have these, now is the time. — 5 years ago
Citrus pith, tart apple, bit of lemon curd and savory herb spices on the nose and palate. Nice unctuous mouthfeel balanced by zesty citrusy acidity. Overall a very nice wine although for my taste the pithy bitterness is a bit too strong on the finish — 9 months ago
Consumed young. Ripe strawberries and flint on the nose. Plums, fresh cut hay, raspberry and a hint of charcoal on the front. Light butterscotch and rhubarb on the front on the finish. Not a jammy wine. — 2 years ago

A bit reductive/flinty. Textural, mineral. Not giving up much fruit. High acid. Thankfully none of that cheap NZ gooseberry or cat piss. Pretty nice now with food. I think it I’ll save my next bottle until 2026. — 3 months ago
