High expectations for the son-of-Harlan Cab, but the winemaker genetics couldn’t quite compensate for the tough vintage. Green. Will seek out other vintages as I’ve heard great things about this one...

This 2011 surprises me. Nuanced but somehow...well, still a 2011.

Rich, tremendous structure and body, excellent balance, notes of rich blackberry, black raspberry, bitter cocoa, graphite, velvety tannins, long finish

Nice juice here. Love the nose, the elegance it has, given its vintage. Lovely nose, red fruit, smoke, menthol, graphite and leather. Oak adds a bit of intrigue and sweet spice, tannins are approachable. A nice gift our roomate opened for us today. Time to get Napa out of our systems before France.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignons are coming into their own. They're silky, seductive, and not powerhouses. Drinking more like a Sonoma Cabernet, and that's alright in my book.

Clearly Bill Harlan passed down great winemaking to his son Will. Big dark fruit with wet slate and earth and a hint of pencil shavings. Well done even given the challenging year Napa had in 2011.

Baby. Should drink in 20+ years. Will go down as an iconic wine of California as well as the world.2011 was slept on by the Bobby Parker’s of the world, but they know nothing of restraint and elegance.
