Sommelier, but I pair wines with dogs to pet. 🍷🐕
Easy to drink, but I’m not blown away by it. But it was simple and clear (taste wise) to play “what is this wine?” with my husband. Garnet red with slow forming, clear tears, no color variation, and no noticeable opacity. Smells of underripe blue fruit, new leather, and white mushroom (fresh). Taste of blue fruit, but as if it was quickly and briefly sautéed (flash heat), nutmeg and other baking spices. Sightly dry aftertaste but it doesn’t last. Drink this while petting a cockapoo. Like the wine, it’s a blend and is a crowd pleaser. — a month ago
Cherry, leather, crushed dried herbs (like on the stale end). Bone-sand dry on the finish, it’s like having dust coat my taste buds. Pet a Cirneco dell'Etna while drinking. — 2 months ago
Toasted, citrus, light sesame. I want to eat roasted tofu with this. Maybe with some Japanese curry. Very nice! — 3 months ago
Earthy, like creek rocks. Clean, crisp. Barely ripe raspberry, dirty baby portobello mushroom dust (in a good way). Dried pine nettles. Old crushed bay leaves. Pet a French Brittany. The breed is smart, adaptive, and and friendly. — a month ago
Fresh strawberries that literally disintegrate into leather dust. Like a mirage. Thanks Nebbiolo for teasing me…. This wine is so dry. Basil leaf, crushed herbs. Pair with a Pekingese. They seem little, sweet, and goofy, but historically they used to hide in the sleeves of the Chinese emperors and courtiers to attack people they felt threatened by…. That’s this wine. — a month ago
Easy to drink and smooth. Baking spices are the star here— cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom (slightly). Cranberry is second. I want to drink this on some rocky European coast in the fall— like small, cute rocks. Not a Californian craggy coast. And there is a cute town there, too. Pair this while petting a Saluki. — a month ago
Dusty, full. It fills and coats the mouth and lingers for quite some time afterwards. Mushroom, compost, forest floor. Some leather quality to it, with a background note of baked black plum (like in a scone). There is a slight cinnamon or nutmeg quality in the aftertaste. It’s mild (can really notice it while breathing in air), but reminds you that it’s still here. Pair with pets for a Maremma Sheepdog. — a month ago
First thing I noticed, oddly, is that it created a airy, clearing sensation through my sinuses. It also lingers on the tongue, nettles, white mushroom, fern compost. Drinking it, I get baked red fruit (not jammy), sulfites, and maybe bay leaf. Plan to pet a Bracco Italiano (one of the oldest pointing dog breeds) while drinking. — 2 months ago

More earthy than the last. Like I crashed on my bike in the Redwood Forest and got a mouthful of dirt earthy. Still smells good. Clover beds (like ☘️, not the spice), gooseberry mixed with pomegranate, some white pepper and leather. Pair while petting a Bearded Collie. — a month ago
