Happy birthday to my beautiful wife. I am so lucky.
Thoughts on notes tomorrow. It’s a special day and dinner! Cheers! 🍷

Drinking well. Wish there was a bit less Barrell though.

either this wine was in an awkward stage or I'm just not a fan

Cocoa powder & Christmas cake.... Tannins powdery, impressive length. Really good place right now.

Excellent right bank Bordeaux. Quite voluptuous with a lot of deep rich fruit. This bottle went through a flood due to hurricane Sandy but was in perfect shape (other than the label). Deep and mouth filling with good acid. Definitely not over the hill. Lots of sediment; worth a careful decant.

Jul 23rd, 2018This wine is in the zone. Smooth drinking. With a little loss of acid being the only downside. Delicious.

Just a fantastic wine. Deep fruit with both primary and secondary characteristics. Intense nose. Long finish with just enough structure / acid to hold it together. Really singing - no need to wait longer. Can't imagine a better pairing with a mutton chop at Keens, it was perfect.
